Some brief background of his expertise includes the following educational and professional accomplishments and experiences:

Mr. Harris graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. While at UNC, he conducted inorganic and organic synthesis and electro-chemical studies of various transition metal complexes under the direction of Thomas J. Meyer, Ph.D. He then conducted recombinant DNA studies of the HIV genome for the Chairman of the NIH AIDS grant committee, Jack Griffith, Ph.D. Mr. Harris' professional, industrial research experience includes the development of quantitative, microelectronic medical device biosensors.

Mr. Harris received his law degree from the University of Georgia in 1999 and went on to serve as a patent examiner in the medical device arts at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and as an attorney advisor intern to the Honorable Delbert R. Terrill, Jr. at the United States International Trade Commission. He regularly writes on various topics related to international patent law. Mr Harris’ experience on behalf of foreign and domestic clients encompasses patent, copyright, and trademark litigation, patent drafting and prosecution, and intellectual property licensing. For example, Mr. Harris has successfully worked to obtain favorable settlements, judicial rulings and strategically worded patent claims. He also regularly helps his clients to develop meaningfully constructed and enforceable patent portfolios, as well as optimal infringement avoidance strategies.

Mr. Harris' current practice includes all aspects of intellectual property with a particular emphasis on patent solicitation and litigation. He is admitted to practice in North Carolina and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is also an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Chemical Society.
